IN A NUTSHELL: The Bobcats brought a 7-7 tie into halftime, but after taking an early lead in the third quarter, Southeast rattled off 27 straight points as it appeared North Port ran out of steam in the second half.

DID YOU SEE THAT: North Port quarterback Devon Allen threw a long bomb to wide receiver CK Poulos, who took it to the house for a 75-yard score. Allen’s throw hit Poulos 35 yards in the air, then Poulos did the rest of the work, sprinting down the sideline to give the Bobcats a 14-7 lead.

THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN: Southeast running back Frankie Clercius busted a 40-yard touchdown run with 5:49 left in the fourth quarter to give Southeast a 27-14 lead. Clercius was held to 45 yards on nine carries up until at point, but finished the night with 120 yards.

UNSUNG HERO: North Port running back Octavious Cummings didn’t have the flashiest game of the night, but made a big impact on both sides of the ball. He rushed 11 times for a team-high 55 yards on offense, and on defense, he had a sack and also forced a few hurries from Southeast’s quarterback Alex Taylor.

THEY SAID IT: “We’ve got to go into summer, continue to work hard, and take every opportunity we have to get better as a football team. I think we’re coming together. Our kids aren’t afraid to work. They want to work, and we’re going to get better every day.”— North Port coach Brian Hatler said.
