The North Port boys cross country team took home a silver medal Saturday morning at the Bradenton Runners Club hosted by Manatee High School.
Dillon Garrett led the way for the Bobcats, winning an individual bronze medal with a time of 17 minutes, 30.8 seconds. Sarasota’s Ivan Plancarte was the individual winner to help his team to a first-place finish.
In the girls race, Kaley Boethig was fifth in a time of 21:00.4 to help the Bobcats to a third-place team standing.
Elsewhere, the Charlotte girls also had a solid morning with the help of Isabella Coogan’s fourth-place finish. The sophomore ran a time of 20:58, to help the Tarpons to a team bronze medal at the Estero DDD Invitational.
The boys didn’t fair as well, placing 19th. Kyle Shirley led the Tarpons with a time of 19:25 that placed him 43rd. Pine Crest had five top-10 finishers to take the team championship.
