GOLF: Lemon Bay, Port Charlotte girls finish top 2 in District

Lemon Bay High School girls golf team won its second consecutive District 2A-19 title on Tuesday at the Harder Hall Country Club in Sebring.
Led by Hyasha Crumpton’s 23-over par 95, the Manta Rays as a team beat its next closest opponent by 124 strokes, as Port Charlotte was the runner-up with a 577.
Crumpton was followed by Christain Chandler (114), Kayla Faircloth (119) and Alaina Schofield (125)
The top three teams all advance to Regionals, so joining Lemon Bay and the Pirates is Bayshore.
Port Charlotte was led by Hannah Madison’s 115, followed by Shaelyn Taylor (121), Adrianna Suarez (155) and Laisha Saba (186).
Hardee’s Hannah Revell won medalist honors with an 81, and qualified for regionals as an individual qualifier.
Regionals will be Tuesday, Oct. 18 Golf Hammock in Sebring.
