Bryan’s Athlete of the Week
This week I have to give it to Devon Allen.
The Bobcat quarterback was key in his team’s second-half comeback. Allen threw for two touchdowns (both to C.K. Poulos) and ran for two more on the way to leading North Port down the field for five unanswered touchdowns after the break.
He also used his athleticism to break tackles, extending plays which would’ve gone for negative yards and, instead, turned them into positives.
Jordan’s Athlete of the Week
My pick this week goes to North Port quarterback Devon Allen.
Allen led the Bobcats on a second-half comeback against Bayshore for their first win of the season Saturday afternoon. North Port rallied from a 12-0 deficit to score five unanswered touchdowns in the second half for a 35-12 win and Allen accounted for four of those scores.
He threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as North Port snapped a nine-game losing streak dating back to October of last year.
Things haven’t always looked up for the Bobcats on the football field, but they finally flipped the script Saturday.
And Allen was a fantastic director.
