Island Coast 57, Lemon Bay 35
The Manta Rays couldn’t overcome a slow start as the Gators defeated them 57-35. Lemon Bay was trailing 15-5 after the first period, and had a 30-15 deficit at the half.
Lauren Maheu had a team-high eight points, and Breanna Nelson added six more points. Lemon Bay (4-3) hosts Cardinal Mooney Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
North Port 67, Gulf Coast 62
The Bobcats trailed at halftime, but 13 points from Zach Babut in the third quarter led them to a 67-62 comeback victory over the Sharks.
North Port scored 21 points in the third to overcome a 36-22 deficit at the break. Babut ended the night with 24 points. Adam Cohen and Gene Oliver each contributed with 10 points.
Ida Baker 70, Charlotte 66
Ida Baker handed the Tarpons their first loss of the season after three wins in the 7A-10 district game in Fort Myers.
Ida Baker (4-2, 2-2) keyed the win with 10 3-point field goals and a 22-for-25 effort from the foul line. Ahmand Johnson topped the Tarpons (3-1, 2-1) with 15 points while Jake Haas had 13 and Trevor Bokon added 11.
