Charlotte 46, Cape Coral 45

The Tarpons overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, the held on in the stretch to claim the district victory.

Cape Coral led 26-16 at halftime, but the Tarpons (4-2, 3-1) trimmed the deficit to 33-29 entering the final quarter. Charlotte continued the surge, leading by seven points in the final minute before hanging on.
Will Batts topped the Tarpons with 11 points while McKengie Simon added nine and Ahmad Johnson 8. Bryan Markovich led Cape Coral with 10.
Charlotte won the game at the foul line converting 14 of 25 attempts to just 6 of 11 for Cape Coral.

Cape Coral 9 17 7 12 — 45: Hyppolite 7, Alade 6, Blissett 4, Gibson 9, Markovich 10, Francis 9. Totals: 18 (3) 6-11.

Port Charlotte77, Ida Baker 39

Port Charlotte (6-0, 3-0) defeated Ida Baker 77-39 Friday night behind 30 points from Sean Price.

The Bulldogs kept it close in the beginning, but match six-point quarters int he second half opened a big lead for the Pirates.

Shemar Fleurrisant dished in 14 points. Price’s total puts him just two points shy of reaching 1,000 for his career. He’ll look to reach that milestone Tueday at 7 p.m. against Cape Coral.

Lemon Bay 33, North Fort Myers 27

The Manta Rays improved to 6-3 with a 32-27 win over the Red Knights Friday night.

Lauren Maheu led the team with eight points. Breanna Nelson scored six points. Eight different players scored for Lemon Bay in the win.

Lemon Bay built up an early 11-2 lead, but couldn’t find a shot for a long stretch after that, but solid defense and ball protection allowed them to hold on for the win.
