Port Charlotte High School’s boys soccer team defeated Island Coast 6-0 in a District 3A-13 match Tuesday night thanks to Noah Couto’s second hat trick in as many nights.
Josh Reyes also scored two goals for the Pirates and Nate Ruth added another.
Coach Joe Roca praised his defense in the win, specifically Joel Requena and Tariq Chase.
Port Charlotte improved to 11-2-1 and 5-1 in district with the win.
An early goal from AD Troche would be all the North Port girls soccer team would need Tuesday night in a win against Palmetto.
But that’s not all they got, as they defeated the 6-0.
Isabelle Rogers had a pair of goals in the win, one assisted by Sam Freitas, and the other by Cami McKinley.
Troche’s goal was assisted by Lisa Botelho, and then Troche had a couple of assists to Hayley Royer and Abey Nottingham. Alexis Abene also scored a goal.
Lemon Bay won its fourth consecutive game Tuesday night in a 70-67 victory over Ida Baker.
Keegan Wyman hit a pair of free throws with 1.8 seconds left in the contest to seal up the win for the Manta Rays. Wyman ended the night with 14 points. Tyler Caron had a team-high 18 points. Hayden Wolff also scored 14.
The win improved Lemon Bay to 3-2 in District 7A-10 play, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-4.
