PREP ROUNDUP: North Port, Lemon Bay boys both win big

LEMON BAY 73, GATEWAY CHARTER 43

The Manta Rays foreced a running clock in the fourth quarter on the way to a 73-43 win over Gateway Charter Friday night.

Michael Reid led the team with 17 points, and three other Lemon Bay players scored in double figures. Luke Morrill had 13 points, Jake Comer scored 12 and Keegan Wyman chipped in with 10 points.

Lemon Bay won all four quarters on the way to the 30-point victory, including a 49-24 advantage in the middle two periods.

NORTH PORT 75, RIVERDALE 33
The Bobcats out-scored the Raiders 23-1 in the first quarter on the way to a blowout 75-55 victory.

Zach Babut had a team-high 16 points for North Port, with Gene Oliver adding 14 and Ben Via contributing 11 points.

In total, 10 Bobcats scored four or more points, and 11 players found their way onto the scoresheet. North Port didn’t allow a field goal for Riverdale until the second quarter.
