The Charlotte High School boys soccer team’s season ended with a 3-0 loss to Braden River on the road in the District 4A-11 quarterfinals Monday night.
The teams’ split their two regular-season meetings but the Pirates jumped out to a fast start to take the must-win third. Braden River (8-7-1) scored twice in the match’s first 10 minutes, with the first goal coming from Nicholas Anderson and the second by Oswaldo Herrera.
Herrera put the game away with a goal less than two minutes after halftime.
Charlotte finishes the regular season with a record of 3-14-1. Braden River will face top-seeded Palmetto in the district semifinals on Wednesday.
Port Charlotte cruised to a victory Monday night over Barron Collier, winning 56-19.
Sean Price scored 18 points. Brandon Gainey added 14 more for the Pirates (15-2)
