ENGLEWOOD — Lemon Bay High School football coach DJ Ogilvie has stepped down from his position, athletic director Ryan Lavallee told The Sun on Friday.
“I’m devastated,” Lavallee said. “I’ve gone through this a few times… for us as a program, I know we’ll move on, but it’s going to be tough to replace him.”
According to Lavallee, Ogilvie is headed back to his home state of Ohio, where he has accepted a position as an athletic director.
Ogilvie spent six seasons as Lemon Bay’s coach, and compiled a 35-26 record over his first five seasons. The Manta Rays went 3-7 in 2016 after winning a district championship in 2015.
Ogilvie was not immediately available for comment.
Lavallee says he will take the weekend before beginning the search process next week.
