PREP ROUNDUP: Port Charlotte, North Port baseball both win


Port Charlotte High School defeated Manatee 6-4 on the road Friday night.

The Pirates (2-0) saw their 6-2 lead cut to just two in the seventh before turning a 6-4-3 double play to end the game. Port Charlotte scored six runs on six hits, five of which came in the second inning.

Jordan Delcolle, Romain Reynolds, Matt Intihar and Spencer Burkhart all drove in one run for the Pirates, who scored two more on errors.

Devin Rack picked up the win for the Pirates, pitching four and two-thirds innings. He struck out eight, walked two and gave up one earned run.


North Port High School defeated Hardee 4-1 on the road Friday night, improving to 2-0 on the season.
