The Lemon Bay boys weightlifting team received four at-large bids Thursday to the Class 1A State Meet on April 8 at DeLand High School.

Caleb Cooper (119-pound weight class), Brayden Curry (199) and Kevin Avendano (199) and Robbie Cerami (219) will join teammates Logan Lydic (139) Treston Kopp and Ron Feril (183), who all won regional titles last week.

The Class 2A State meet will be held on April 7, with eight area lifters participating.

Charlotte’s Kaden Howell (119) and Shekina Ayemperoumal (183) were both regional champions last week and will be joined by teammates Devin Markstahler (219) and Jack Fining (238) after they received at-large berths on Thursday.

Port Charlotte and North Port didn’t receive any at-large bids but they will still take lifters to DeLand. The Pirates will be represented by their three regional champions — Sabian Levasseur (199), Luidson Jeanty (238) and Devin Leacock (unlimited) — while the Bobcats will take regional champion Alex Jen (129).
