After the conclusion of the first day of the District 2A-11 Tournament, Lemon Bay’s girls tennis team leads the competition with 10 points after not dropping a set in singles play. The Manta Rays are attempting to win their 8th straight district title.
Bradenton Southeast is in second with seven points and Lake Placid (six points) finished the first day in third place. Booker (four points), Bayshore (three points) and DeSoto County (two points) round out the six-team field.
Defending District 2A-11 champion Southeast and host Lemon Bay separated themselves from the field after the first day of the district tournament.
Southeast leads Lemon Bay by a point, 11-10. The Seminoles and Manta Rays will be matched up in every singles final Tuesday morning, set for a 9 a.m. start. Bayshore (5 points), DeSoto County (three points), Lake Placid (two points) and Booker (0 points) completed the first day of scoring.
