TRACK & FIELD: Strong District performance for Lemon Bay

Kelsi Ogilvie led Lemon Bay’s girls on Thursday to their fourth straight district track and field championship.

The senior Manta Ray won the 3200 meter run, the 1600 and ran the second leg on the winning 4×800 relay team to help Lemon Bay tally 173 points to win the District 2A-9 title at Booker High School.

Lemon Bay junior Maddison Welch also won the girls 800 meters in 2:28.88 while teammate Grace Leah took first in the discus.

Lemon Bay senior Thomas Chaney finished first in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.84 to lead the boy to a third-place finish with 97 points. St. Petersburg Lakewood took first with 209 points while Booker finished second with 115 points.
