PORT CHARLOTTE — The area’s top basketball player finally made a decision where he’s going to continue his basketball career.
In front of a packed Port Charlotte High School auditorium filled with teammates, friends, coaches and teachers, Sean Price announced he’ll be attended Charleston Southern University next year.
“I went on a visit and everyone treated me like family,” Price said. “They act like me, they’re goofy but when it’s time for business they get to it. The school is really nice, and it’s in a quiet area.”
As a senior, Price led the area in both points per game (22.2) and rebounds (9.8) and was also fourth with 3.5 assists.
He led the Pirates to their fourth consecutive District Championship in 2017, which Price says was a highlight of his career.
“My time at Port Charlotte, I wouldn’t trade for anything. It’s been one heck of a ride,” Price said.
Charleston Southern, a Division-I school, is located in South Carolina. It has a tick under 4,000 students.
The Buccaneers play in the Big South Conference, and it appears as if Price will get significant playing time next year as a freshman.
