Three members of the Charlotte Stone Crabs were named to the 2017 Florida State Lead All-Stars, the league announced Tuesday.
Second baseman Brandon Lowe, shortstop Jake Cronenworth and catcher Brett Sullivan will play for the south Division in the all-star game played in Lakeland on Saturday, Jun 17 at 7 p.m.
Lowe has a Florida State League-best .437 on-base percentage, and also leads with a .610 slugging percentage. His 27 extra-base hits is tied for first, while his 36 runs are good enough for No. 2 in the league.
The all-star nod is the first of his career.
For Cronenworth, he’ll be appearing in his third all=star game as a professional. He was previous in the Midwest League (2016) and New York-Penn League (2015) as an all-star.
In addition to boasting a 25-game hit streak earlier this season, he ranks in the top five in the Florida State League in runs (32), walks (30) and on-base percentage (.413).
Sullivan had a spectacular month of May, hitting .323 and collecting eight extra-base hits with 12 RBI and 13 runs.
The game will be played at the newly-renovated Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium for the first time since 2006. A home-run derby will precede the game, and a fireworks show will take place afterward.
