PUNTA GORDA — Plenty of students across Florida used Hurricane Irma as an excuse to put school and sports out of mind while taking a week off.
For a pair of Charlotte High School volleyball players, this week’s Hurri-cation meant they had to get creative in finding ways to stay in shape.
Despite organized team activities being forbidden this week with the school closures, Skylar Gribben and Eva Le still managed to play some competitive volleyball. Gribben and Le went to a recreational center in North Port earlier this week and played mixed 6-on-6 volleyball.
