ENGLEWOOD — In the biggest match of the season in terms of district seeding, Lemon Bay was nearly swept on its home floor against North Fort Myers.
If not for a bad call on the final point of the second set, the Red Knights would’ve rolled to an early night victory. Instead, they settled for a 3-1 win (25-15, 22-25, 25-13, 25-18) over the Manta Rays at the Thomas M. Catanzarite Gymnasium on Thursday night.
The loss locks Lemon Bay (9-9, 3-3) into the No. 4 seed in the District 7A-10 tournament in two weeks while North Fort Myers (13-4, 4-2) jumps up to No. 3.
