FOOTBALL: Lemon Bay falls to Booker

ENGLEWOOD — Lemon Bay coach Don Southwell probably didn’t have a good night’s sleep last night.

He had to be playing in his mind the two Manta Rays drives inside the Booker 5-yard line that ended in interceptions, which provided the visitors the difference in a 26-21 victory Friday at Veterans Stadium in a District 5A-11 matchup during Homecoming.

The Manta Rays had two chances in the second half to get back in the game, but quarterback Hayden Wolff threw two picks — one to Johnathan Presha and another to Anthony Thomas on a deflection off the chest of Lemon Bay’s Thomas Cheney in the end zone.
