PORT CHARLOTTE — If you attended both Friday night’s Port Charlotte football game against Island Coast and last week’s contest with Ida Baker, you might have thought you had deja vu.

Just like a week ago, the Pirates used a smothering defensive performance in the first half to lead them to a win, this time around topping the Gators 60-0.

“Our goal tonight was to come out, play hard, play fast and hopefully get out starters out quick,” coach Jordan Ingman said. “The kids played really well in all three phases. … Our expectations are high. We’re focused on the task in front of us. We’ve already kind of put this one away mentally, and are focused on what’s coming up.”
